What Does Our Name Mean?
We are frequently asked, “what does your company name mean,” or “how do you say your name?” The origins of early computing inspire our name. The first systems had a familiar prompt that asked users to “press any key to continue,” hence neKey.
The “press any key” prompt was so prevalent when computers became widely used and available that it was featured in a fan-favorite episode of The Simpsons. And even though we more often swipe than press keys, this little bit of computer history is something we keep in our name and lore.
The Story of neKey
NeKey was established in 1999 to provide IT solutions and CAD consulting in the greater Philadelphia and south New Jersey areas. Following a change of ownership in 2010, we have steadily grown and expanded our portfolio of services. But we have remained committed to our client-partners, investing in research and training, and continue to earn the trust and respect of our community.
Our entire organization continues to improve and evolve. We believe strength comes from diversity, not focusing on providing a single solution business model.
